Sunny Sunday

Pat, Lucia, and I had a great day yesterday. It started off with Lucy going one 6.5-hour stretch from 9pm to 3:30am and then a 5-hour stretch to 8:30am. Pat went to check on her at 8:30 and here is the picture that he came back with as proof that she was still ok and sleeping in her crib. We then made a valiant attempt to make it to church. We were heading out the door when we realized that Lucia was going to want to eat earlier than we expected, so we gave her a quick bottle. When heading up to change her after the bottle, we discovered the blow out...more baby poop than I have ever seen before! It was amazing! She had it everywhere including my new outfit that I was wearing for the first time to church. That quickly turned into a bath in order to get the poop off of her head! Yes, it had made its way all the way up to the crown of her head! The little lady did smell great after the bath though. The day turned out to be unexpectedly sunny, so and I drove to UVillage, grabbed lunch, and took a walk with Lucia on the Burke-Gillman trail. She was a trooper and we were able to stay out of the house for a great 6 hours. I love the fresh air and this is such a beautiful time of year for walking outside. It was a great weekend day! Now back to the weekdays for a bit.

Pillow from Aunt Jai

My sister-in-law, Jai, made Lucy this crazy awesome pillow to match her crib bedding. Jai apparently has mad sewing skills that far exceed my own. The pillow looks great! Here is Lucia posing for her thank you email to Jai.

Lucy's Play Time

Lucy is loving her play gym which I remember Sara Parsons saying that she would! You were right Sara. :) Anyway, she spends plenty of time smiling and hitting at the blue plastic elephant. She getts pretty excited and has all of her limbs moving frantically about. Pat set up this great toy configuration where every time she moves, she hits something. It is quite entertaining for her and for us. Here is a video of Lucy playing and a picture of my two favorite people in the gym.

Lucy in Happy Hollis Outfit

Lucy and I did our own personal photo shoot the other day. My friend Rachael makes these great onsies and sells them in local shops. Lucy is the proud owner of a few of the outfits. Here is one of the pictures.

Bath time with Dad

It is hard to tell who got the best of who. Lucy didn't go down without a fight!

Lucia Kate's smile makes my day

I could just sit and watch my little girl smile at me all day! Here is a video from 2 weeks ago. You'll have to forgive the ridiculous baby talking. You have to do what it takes to get the smile! Also, I am video taping her while she is sitting in my lab, so her head is a painfully close to the camera. Anyway, not exactly professional material but it does the trick. Um...Kaitlyn is probably going to hire me as her backup camera operator after seeing this! ;)

Lucia at 6 weeks

I can't believe that Lucia is already 6 weeks old! I have fallen so far behind on my blog posts, so I will just start from today rather than trying to catch up but will post some of my favorite pictures from the past few weeks.

Today and yesterday have been unbelievably beautiful in Seattle! It is sunny and warm, so Lucy and I have been able to go for walks and I have also been working in the yard, which I love. Lucia is getting so much more playful. She loves her baby gym. She will lie there for quite a while in baby time and just swing her arms and legs around, listen to the music, and check out all of the bright colors. She is growing so fast too. She is now up to 9 pounds and is packing on way more than an ounce per day. Check out the little pudgy face below!

We are enjoying her smiles too. She gives us more and more smiles each day. There is nothing like a little toothless baby grins to make your day. I can't imagine a better life. I get to take care of my girl each day and enjoy every little face that she makes and see every little change.
