Lucy is 9 months and crawling!

Well, we have reached one of those big milestones! Lucy is now a crawling baby. She has been up on her hands and knees rocking back and forth for about a month and has been army "crawling" for maybe a week but she has definitely crossed over to full on crawling. It was a big day (Saturday, Dec. 12th). Here is some video of the event. Now it is time for baby gates and watching the Christmas tree/Lucia very carefully!

Lucy's First Christmas Tree Hunt

Pat, Lucia and I headed out to Hubert's Christmas Tree Farm last Friday in search of the perfect tree. We had a quick visit with my Grandma in Port Orchard and picked up Kaitlyn for the adventure. We met up with Terry, Kathy, Jai, Sten, and Solveig and headed out to the farm. It was a perfectly beautiful day, which is a blessing in the NW for late November. We had a great time with the family and enjoyed the hot cider and the view from the little hut in the middle of the farm.

Lucia's First Thanksgiving

There are so many things to be thankful for this year. We have our lovely little lady Lucia who brings us much joy and laughter every day, we have an amazing family, friends, our health, and more than our daily needs provided for. I know that the Lord is the giver of all of these good gifts and I am immensely grateful for his grace.

Thanksgiving was at our house this year and we had the Jai, Sten, Solveig, Kathy, Terry, my Grandma Shirley, and Kaitlyn over for dinner. The day started off well with Pat beating the snot out of the yet to be cooked turkey in order to make it fit in the roaster. Pat won and the turkey was tasty. Here are some pictures from the big day.

Lucy's night out with the girls

Pat was away this weekend on a photo trip to Northern CA with his friend Chris. It has been sad to have him away but I have been very thankful to have Kaitlyn here and, last night, Lucia and I got to go have dinner out with our buddy Erin! Lucia thinks that Erin is just about the greatest. She hams it up for her every time we hang out. So here are a few shots of our night out together.

Lucy lounging in her highchair checking out the balloons behind us.

Erin and Lucy. Lucy also decided to show Erin her love by dumping a nice tall glass of water all over Erin's purse.
Me and the little lady in her high chair. She looks so grown up sitting there all on her own!
Apparently it was quite the party night because Lucy managed to pull her hat down over her eyes on the way home and fell asleep. This shot was taken after I had parked in the garage.

Getting Ready to Crawl

Lucia is definitely showing signs of crawling. She gets up on her hands and knees now and rocks back and forth. It is pretty cute. I was able to get it on video the other day, so I thought that I would post it.

Lucy the Queen Bee

Here are a bunch of photos from our photo shoot last weekend. Pat took all of the pictures of course and Kaitlyn and I ran around and acted like crazy ladies to get Lucy to laugh. It was a lot of fun and ended, as all good baby photo shoots should, with Lucia peeing on the backdrop.

I loved seeing Lucia in the little bee costume. It was pretty cute. She loved the fabric and spent a good portion of the time trying to eat it.

And...the out-takes. She wasn't actually mad here. These are just funny Lucy faces

More Day to Day with Lucy Kate

Life has been busy and a lot of fun these past few weeks! Kaitlyn arrived on October 16th and is staying with us until the beginning of January. We are thrilled to have her for many reasons including babysitting! :) It has been great to have her around during the day to play with Lucia here and there. Lucy thinks she is the greatest and gets totally excited whenever she comes around.

It seems that every day has been full. We have been able to walk Greenlake with friends Lindsay and Jackson, go out to coffee with Kaitlyn and Erin, and hang out with Rachael and Hollis. All good times with great friends. It makes the rain of the fall more enjoyable when you get to spend time with good people.

Halloween has come and gone. I was lame and didn't get a costume. I don't know why but I guess I just wasn't all that motivated to go on a hunt for the perfect costume. Kaitlyn and I went to Target yesterday and she insisted that we scope out the 75% off Halloween junk section. Well, I found a little bee costume for $3.24, so I had to buy it. :) I took some crappy pictures of Lucia in the costume last night but these are just a glimpse. Pat took some amazing shots of The Lu this morning in her bee costume, then some in a cloth diaper, and then some nuddy...until she peed all over the backdrop. :) I'll post those pictures as soon as they are ready.

Lucia: the baby bee. "ohhhh sparkle fabric, how I love you"
Terrible lighting on this picture but the ones that Pat took are great.
Some play time with Aunt Kaitlyn

Snuggle time with Dad after work
Pat reading to Lucia...so educational..oh wait, that is the REI catalog!
A baby in a toy box. She thought this was pretty great. Who wouldn't want to be stuck in a whicker basket full of all of the toys that you love in the world.
Cute lady in an awesome hat! :)
Going to town on an apple slice. It only fell on the floor about 15 times and then went straight back into her mouth. I'm sure it was clean!

Call and response time with Aunt Kaitlyn. Not sure what they were saying to eachother but it was intense. :)

I think that one of Lucia's favorite parts about eating is the opportunity that she has to attempt to consume the napkin as I am washing off her face.

Lucy and Her Toybox

Lucy has been getting more and more mobile these days now that she is rolling around with speed, pivoting on her belly, and scooting backwards. She is going to be crawling in no time. For now, though, she has discovered her toy box and had quite a great time empting it out the other day and tipping it over on herself.
