My Date with my Favorite Lady

Lucia and I went to see the Fancy Nancy Ballet a few weekends back. It was so much fun. I get a bit over the top excited about anything that she gets excited about and the ballet did not disappoint. I wish that I had video of her watching the performance. She was completely enthrawled and even did little leg kicks and ballet arm motions when the girls were dancing. It was adorable. After each dance, of course, everyone clapped. Lucia clapped so hard that it looked like her little hands might fly off. She also kept asking in a loud voice, "where is Fancy Nancy". I am sure you could here it a good few rows up. We had a great time and even got to take pictures with the stars afterward.

Drumroll....the star...Fancy Nancy with little Lucy!

We are mean...

It is probably unkind to do this to your own son, but I nearly peed laughing so hard especially at the first picture...sorry bubs!

What bubs would look like with blonde surfer hair

Bubs sporting to new fashionable "brights" look. Hot pink glasses and a neon yellow pacie...SO in! ;)

Eli Laughing

We caught a bit of the little man laughing on video. We never know what will get him laughing, so we spend a decent amount of time acting like a bunch of crazies. It is so fun to hear his little chuckle.

More of Elijah Playing

It has been great fun to watch and interact with Elijah lately. He is becoming more talkative every day and more playful. He watches Lucy like crazy too. He is loving standing up with our assistance of course. It seems like he is getting closer to rolling as well but hasn't quite got it yet. He talks up a storm though especially in the morning. He is just a smiley happy man.

Valentines Day at the Murphy House

When you can't go out...go tacky!

You can't really ask other people to babysit your kids for you on Valentines Day. That's just plain mean. ;) Anyway, so I decided that I would just make the evening festivities as spectacularly tacky as I possibly could. Mission accomplished right!?!

Eww..what is that blue glass doing messing up my red/pink blaze of awesomeness?!?

I bought every fantastically tacky red and pick item that Target had to offer and put them all on one table. It was lovely. We did have a great night in. Those kiddos make pretty good Valentine dates.

My Valentine with the bubbly
couldn't resist... ;)

It's a good life...

It's the tiny little moments that make such lasting and wonderful memories!

Reading under the dining room table in our "pirate ship"
Coloring inside a massive box...thanks Amazon! Yes, both Lucy, me, and the coloring tools fit with room to spare
Huge baby smiles and a very slobber soaked toy carrot
Toothless grins
The boy can hold up that massive Summerill head!
Pat took Lucy to the Frog and Toad play and Lucy wasn't big enough to hold down the seat.
Eating the pink frosting off of a huge Top Pot donut
wearing daddy's hat
She was actually trying to show Elijah her newly painted toenails and fingernails

Palm Spring with the Whites

We just got back from our first family of four vacation...and we survived! :) It was actually such a great time. We went down to Palm Springs (they have sun there) with our friends Chris and Kristen and their little cutie Hayden. Kristen is amazing and found this perfect house for us with a pool and TONS of kids toys. It was so perfect! We were able to chill and relax without the kids stuck in a tiny hotel room with nothing to do. Instead, we had a whole house for our two families. We were able to make our meals at the house, hang out by the pool during nap times, and have some drinks and conversation after the kids went to bed. Hum...we MUST do this every year now!

I will say the travel days were a bit taxing (I am putting that really really nicely). If I'm totally honest, Pat and I were ready to pull our hair out by the time we got to Palm Springs. A bit of sun and coffee the next morning cured our frantic nerves though. We enjoyed our little coffee spot that also has a big, grassy, courtyard that is perfect for the kids to run around in. We sat by the pool a lot and I think I may have even read 5 pages from a book between naps, lunchtime, and other kid stuff. It was glorious. Pat and Chris took a morning and afternoon off to go do photos around Salvation Mountain and the Salton Sea and Kristen and I got a day off to hit the outlet mall! It was a bit harder to fit everything in my suitcase on the way home! I absolutely loved shopping around with Kristen! I think we must have purchased 3 matching outfits including the same pair of shoes on one of them. It was awesome. I can't wait to do that again. We totally clicked on the shopping scene. Perhaps not a great thing for the husbands. ;)

The last day was magnificently beautiful and we spent nearly the entire day by the pool. We started early and Chris made us all super tasty turkey burgers and salsa. Nothing like a little lunch and prosecco by the pool to make a perfect vacation day. You know how you hope to find good friends that will last a lifetime? For us, God gave us the Whites as amazing friends. We're so grateful for their friendship. I hope that we have many more trips like this in our future as our kids grow. It is funny how vacation with kids is nothing like vacation just as a couple. There are moments of total insanity but then there are the moments of pure sweetness where it is is so clear that God has made life abundant....like looking at this face!

and this face...

Here are a few too many photos of our adventures
